Today he is the president of the international ministry "Eurovision - Mission for Europe", which specializes in production of religious programs for satellite TV. He is also the Director of TV Company "Eurovision" and the chief editor of the largest Christian magazine "Prophetic Vision" produced in English, German, Danish, Norwegian , Russian and Bulgarian languages.
The preacher began his ministry in Russia and Europe in 1961, when his first bus expedition to Jerusalem was organized through the countries of the Iron Curtain.
Based on this experience, David began to bring Bibles to the Soviet Union and socialists countries of Eastern Europe. Although it was illegal, he continued to this until 1972, when he was arrested, tortured and imprisoned in Czechoslovakia. After spending a year in jail, David was released through the help of British Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
During next 40 years after his release David has been preaching in Eastern Europe. In 1976 he organized a successful campaign for the release of George Vince, a famous Russian pastor from Kyiv, who was sentenced for his faith to many years of imprisonment in Siberia. After that David continued to preach in underground churches until it was possible to minister openly at church services and at conferences in communist countries in 1980s. This activity grew and devolved during 1990s and early 2000s.
Now David Hathaway’s ministry is focused on providing spiritual and material support to people of the former Soviet Union and Israel, as well as those who survived the Holocaust.
One more direction of ministry is the organization of the National Day of Prayer. Such events, where churches could be united in prayer for nation's prosperity, already has been held in Ukraine twice, and are planned in the UK and European countries.
